Concerts and events with the premiertone artists
Especially for friends of chamber music, there are quite a lot of interesting concerts during this week. A special highlight for premiertone: There are even two concerts with several of "our" artists!
Let's start in Germany, more accurate: in Southern Germany. On June 23rd, Carlota Amado and Iason Keramidis play works by Schubert, Rachmaninoff and Dvořák in Ismaning near Munich together with cellist Sissy Schmidhuber. Trios of violin, bassoon and piano are planned on June 25th in Schwäbisch Hall when Jonian-Ilias Kadesha plays works by Grieg, Liszt, Mendelssohn Bartholdy and others. On June 24th, Thorsten Johanns interpretes Mozart's Clarinet Quintet in Essingen together with the Aris Quartet.
In Northern Germany, you can listen to a lot of chamber music during this week, too: Ramón Ortega Quero appears in a concert in Pulheim near Cologne on June 25th, playing works by Couperin, Geminiani, Bach, Telemann and Vivaldi. On June 23rd, Claudio Bohórquez interpretes works by Bach, Penderecki, Schumann und Beethoven in a recital at Beethovenhaus Bonn. Because of the 150th birthday of the French composer Charles Koechlin, there will be a concert with his works on June 25th in Cologne with Nicholas Rimmer, Oren Shevlin and other musicians of the project "KammerMusik für Köln". Finally, harpist Jasmin-Isabel Kühne gives a concert in Reislingen near Wolfburg on June 24th.
There are even two concerts to announce for Mikayel Hakhnazaryan and the Kuss Quartet: The ensemble can be listened to in Bad Oeynhausen on June 23rd, playing works by Beethoven und Kurtág and then heads for Astana (Kazakhstan) to interprete Schubert's String Quintet together with Mischa Maisky on June 25th. Another musician with two events during this week is pianist Joseph-Maurice Weder: He gives a concert with works by Schumann and Liszt at the "Fête de la Musique" in Geneve and additionally plays Mendelssohn's Double Concerto together with violinist Heidi Schmid and the Günzburger Kammerorchester on June 25th.
We move on to some festivals: On June 25th, Reinhard Goebel conducts works by Telemann during MDR Musiksommer in Magdeburg. Also on June 25th, Sunhae Im sings in the final concert of Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci. Marianna Shirinyan has been invited to the festival "midsummer music" in Great Britain and will play in four different concerts between June 23rd and 25th.
Finally, there are two journeys to announce: Michael Hasel gives a masterclass at "Flutissimo!" in Athens (USA) from June 19th to 23rd and the Novus String Quartet travels through Israel, giving concerts in Jerusalem, Haifa and Tel Aviv.
Pianists up to the age of 35 years can apply for the Brescia Classica 1st International Piano Competition until June 20th. In addition to the prizes, the five best finalists will be admitted at the Malta International Piano Competition.
There are two deadlines closing during the following week, too: Until June 28th, pianists can apply for Premio Roberto Melini and until July 1st, registration for the competition "Internationaler Musikwettbewerb Köln" is open. In this year, the competition has been announced for singers with a focus on opera/operetta, applicants have to be younger than 30 years.
